By accessing or using Arca ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Arca provides a private data storage service ("Vault") that allows users to:

• Store structured data in tables
• Store vector embeddings and semantic memories
• Grant temporary access to AI assistants via API
• Export data in standard formats

3. User Accounts

To use Arca, you must:

• Create an account with a valid email address
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Be at least 18 years old or have parental consent
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Data Ownership and Rights

You retain all ownership rights to your data.

By using Arca, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store your data in your isolated vault
• Process API requests on your behalf
• Generate embeddings for vector storage
• Provide backup and recovery services

We will not use your data for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Store content that violates intellectual property rights
• Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' vaults
• Abuse, harass, or harm others through the Service
• Interfere with the operation of the Service
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

6. AI Assistant Access

When you grant an AI assistant access to your vault:

• Access is provided via short-lived API credentials
• You can revoke access at any time
• The AI assistant's use of your data is governed by its own terms
• You are responsible for understanding what data you grant access to

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but:

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• Maintenance and updates may cause temporary disruptions
• We may modify or discontinue features with notice
• You are responsible for maintaining your own backups

8. Fees and Payment

Arca is currently in beta and provided free of charge. We reserve the right to:

• Introduce pricing in the future with advance notice
• Set storage limits or usage quotas
• Offer premium features or tiers

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Deleting your account through the dashboard
• Contacting our support team

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your access to the Service will cease immediately
• Your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy
• You should export your data before terminating

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ARCA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arca from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
